Hi,
Sorry Dave, I don't think the Alice that was living at Mitcham is the correct one.
On her marriage certificate it says Alice Mary Wyatt and George Ellis married 23.4.1898
at St. Thomas's, West Ham. George was 23 years old and Alice was 18 years old.
At the time George was living at 98, Abbey Rd, and Alice was living at 92, Abbey Rd.
George's father was Edward Ellis and Alice's father was George Wyatt, a meat salesman.
I've looked on the 1891 census and there are two Alice's, one whose father George was
a Cheesmongers assistant, and the other one whose father George was an Upholsterer
& Undertaker.
I just can't seem to work this one out at all !!
Foz
