Brunswick Vaults, Upper Bangor 1879-80

I found Brunswick Vaults in Slater's 1868 Directory, Worral's 1874 Directory, and Slater's 1895 Directory. 

But clearly I have more work to do. I'm very confused. Thanks for all your help, I think it has me finally looking in the right direction.

Carol,

Don't forget that not everybody were in the directories as they had to pay a fee to be included. Many didn't bother, so it is not uncommon for there to be gaps.

Another thought. They have the licensing records at the Record Office in Caernarfon. There are licence registers and Petty Sessions papers which might be of help to you.

i think 15 Holyhead Road would make sense with whats know called Paddys. it used to be called the Vaults and might be under Victoria St due to the face that there used to be an entrance onto that street also?

15 Holyhead Road is a shop called Dimensions now (which sells hippy nuts and seeds and potions)... if you go here http://www.bangorcivicsociety.org.uk/pages/towntours/09_9.htm you can see the shop 5 clicks to the right.

Patricks was built 1854> and numbers 57-59 today

Well, it's been a while. I put my research aside for a bit because sometimes it helps me get a better perspective on things if I pick it up fresh.  I think in about a month or so I will start actively pursuing this again. But, I have been watching this thread with great interest and get excited when I receive an email that someone posted.

This Brunswick Vaults lead will be the first thing I attempt to figure out and I'll be sure to post it here if I do!

Menai Vaults sounds familiar from when I was in Bangor in the late 1960s.

found recently Brunswick Buildings in Caernarfon. now not sure but think they might be on whats called Bangod Rd in the town. Could there have been a mix up between Brunswick Vaults Bangor Rd,Caernarfon?
