Hi Cathay, silly me I suppose it would have helped had I posted it. Now, I couldn't find Joe KEFFORD but I found this one. KEFFORD William (No 750) born 1826- unmarried farm laborer, convicted at Bedford 17.10.1848, transported 7 years. Arrived per vessel "MINDEN" 14.10.1851. Ticket of Leave 14.10.1851. Conditional Pardon April 1854.  There are not any Birth, Death or Marriage entries for this man or any Kefford in Western Australia, so I think that he would have returned to England. Convicts with low numbers were very sort after because they mostly committed  nothing more than a misdomemar - Roser

well thank you all.thats the marriage alright sparkle. joe may have been william and thats why i couldnt find him on convicts list.and thats the right edward smith.i have never been able to find a marriage for him so dont know if he married her or not.there are 3 more children to be born and i do know sometimes she refers to edward as albert(the name of one of her sons)i winder who the infant was male or female?i think we are getting somewhere now. rosie smith is from edward and emma lets see if wwe can find a birth reg.the others are all registered i know its just her!i wonder too if we can find william kefford when he came back to england and maybe before he went.cathay.oh moses and elizabeth i wonder if we can find them together in a cencus.he died in 1889 i know but i am sure they had more than 2 children cathayb
