Hello!
That sounds promising. Where are your family from? Some names in my family are Rachel Burnett, Thomas Burns, Margaret Thomson, Alexander Brown. Do you recognise any of these? My grandmother was Cecilia Brown. She married Thomas Burns. They were from Dundee although originationg from further north and they were closely linked to the jute trade. They both had numerous brothers and sisters. Sound likely? tell me some of the names on your tree and I'll let you know if they are the same as any of mine.

Hi!
This doesn't sound too likely! My grandmother was Cecilia Brown. She came from Perth and then Dundee. her parents were Margaret Speedie Thomson from Perth and Alexander Brown. Cecilia married Thomas Burns from Aberdeen. His parents were Rachel Burnett (Aberdeenshire) and Thomas Burns (born in Peebles). Rachel's parents were William Burnett and Christian Sim. My grandmother had Margarets in her family but none born around that time. She only had one brother and eight sisters. The only one to carry on the Brown name was the brother and as far as I can make out he didn't have any children. It doesn't look very promising. What do you thiink? My surname is Burns. Where does that surname come into your tree?
