You mention Joshia christened in 1822 alongside Elizabeth in 1826 Manchester Cathedral parents

How do you know these were the children of YOUR Joseph & Sarah ?

There are a couple of other Joseph Rothwell to a wife Sarah  on the 1841 who could have been parents to the above.?

I agree with Judi - that Elizabeth b 1826 is either not yours or she could have died and they later named another child after her.
Judi has some good information there for Elizabeth which could be followed up.
You could get Rachel's birth certificate- she is the only one born after 1837- that would tell you Sarah's name at least.
There are possible deaths for Margaret Rothwell in Salford and possible marriages for Sarah. Unfortunately, it is a common name. My Rothwells are from Heap originally.

Yes i with Judi and Heywood. Rothwell around manchester is a common name. Ours as far as i know from Ancouts/Collyhurst
