Hi the only name i have for Twigs is Hugh Twigs of Belfast 1852 Directory.

Trying to find a Sarah Twig and hot off the press my sister has found the only Sarah Twig at present born in 1830 and father Hugh Twig mother Elizabeth not sure if this is the right one until I have Belfast come back on death cert which is taking weeks.

(all birth cert's of her children suggest that this Sarah was unmarried and her maiden name was Twig) Although when one daughter married ,also called Sarah Twig, a father appears called Archibald Twig 35years later WE ARE A BIT CONFUSED(never heared of him before)

But this Directory, would it tell you what Hugh did for a living and where in Belfast he was living.

And can I be cheeky and is there a James Gault grocer of Belfast in your Directoryabout 1860 to1900 (give or take a few years ), he was married to Elizabeth Boyd from Ballinney.

On a lighter note ....Keith would love to know what the Irish did with potatoes...take a few minitues to read about 14lb of spuds ...I bet you've got a good few meals up your sleeve ..

That info was a great help - good job I logged on to site because she didn't tell me about it!
I am still very stuck on Sarah Twigg tho - appears to be unmarried and had several children between 1870 and 1890 in Antrim (one being my G.Gran) - only time I can find her is on 1911 listing

J,H Twigg Bus Condtr, 96 Alliance Parade Belfast he is the only Twigg in them???.
