I have a gypsy Sarah Ann Roberts staying with aunt and uncle Diana and Joseph Gess in 1861 in Sittingbourne. I never knew Gess was a Romany name lol. Glad it is. Someone has posted on this thread about Adam and Priscilla Roberts on the 1861 at Old George Yard, Sittingbourne. They were my lot, and Sarah's parents.

Hi to all those reseaching these lines. I am related to the Goldsmiths, my gf being Thomas Goldsmith son of Moses Goldsmith and Sarah Stone. Nel it was Kezia Goldsmith who married Richard Stone. Rebekah, Diana (sister of Sarah Stone) and Joseph Gess are my great Aunt and Uncle. I think Joseph's father was Henry Gess.
Best wishes
