Sir Isaac PITMAN was from Trowbridge, Wiltshire and taught in Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire.

Perhaps Bonnie will clarify for us what kind of help she is after.

That's what I said a while ago but didn't really get a clear answer:
Could you explain exactly what you are looking for? There's lots of bit of information in your post but I'm not sure what you are hoping to find.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Tracing Isaac Pitman is fun as he insisted on using a phonetic spelling so we find him on one census as Eizak. However, you can verify it is him as his spouse is always Isabella. He has the most superb occupational descriptions.

Hi Arranroots - I was a long time typing that stuff, hence the overlap.

I think that Bonnie may be disappointed in finding the link with Sir Isaac. Most families have one or more of these legends. Ours was that we were related to Captain Matthew Webb, the first man to swim the channel. We ain't. On the other hand, at least one of the two links with England cricketers was true and the other still only a legend.
Southern or Southan [Hereford , Monmouthshire & Glos], Jenkins, Meredith and Morgan [Monmouthshire and Glos.], Murrill, Damary, Damry, Ray, Lawrence [all Middx. & London], Nethway from Kenn or Yatton. Also Riley and Lyons in South Africa and Riley from St. Helena.
