Is this Frederick in 1911 census:
2 Epworth Lane, Rathmines & Rathgar East, Dublin
Frederick Champion, 38, domestic coachman, born Dublin City
wife Margaret Champion, 28, married 9 years, 3 children/3 living, born Meath Co.
dau. Lilian Champion, 8, scholar, born Dublin City
son Frederick Champion, 7, scholar, born Dublin City
dau. Margaret Champion, 4, born Kerry? County
All are listed as Roman Catholic

Marriage certificate for Frederick and Margaret should list his father's name and occupation. There are a few other Champions in 1911 Dublin census which you can search here: www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search

Had a look at IGI and found 4 children of Henry Champion and Charlotte Mason:
1. daughter born 1867
2. Frederick born 28 Jan.1869 Dublin, Dublin
3. Francis born 1870
4. Henry Patrick born 1874

There is a widow Charlotte Champion in 1911 Dublin census with several children including a son Francis age 32 (born c1879? but ages aren't always correct and this could be Francis born 1870- above).

There's also a possibilty that Frederick Champion age 38 (born c1883 could be the same family- either the one born 1869 or a later son with the same name). In any case you need to find the name of your Frederick's father.

Here's a link to the Lord Mayor's Office in Dublin. I'm not certain what records may be held there ... I feel they should have records of coachmen, drivers, porters and secretaries so you may be able to obtain confirmation that Frederick was the Lord Mayor's coachman. http://tinyurl.com/556j2l This link is for the Mayors and Lord Mayors of Dublin ... www.dublin1850.com/dublin/lordmayor.html
