Looking for marriage of JACOB POWLEY c 1790 Egham? to a MARY (could be SMITH, SNOW or HANCOCK going by middle names of children/granchildren) Daughter Hannah was born Egham 1795, John 1799 and Thomas 1803.

Any more info on Jacob and Mary would be great

Hiya

It means that if he did marry in Surrey, then it's not been indexed. Also, there is no entry on the IGI, so not indexed there either. Nor in the non-parochial BMDs (non-conformists).

So, it's either look at the parish records themselves, or, he may have married outside the area.... many couples married up in London for instance.

I assume that George Jacob Powley son of John & Martha, baptised 1827 Egham is a grandson? He's in the preliminary index of Surrey Baptisms.

I, too, am chasing this line.  My hubby is  Jacob and Mary's great great great great grandson.  I have information on their deaths (and descendants), but little else.  I am willing to share what I have if you would like it.
