Thanks very much. The Selkirk ones aren't mine but Euphemia is and I didn't have her date of birth so that is one step in the right direction. I will look for a birth record for her now and that just might take me somewhere. Which one is the Old Cemetry in Gala, is it the Aisle or another one?

I will answer for alan.   the 'old' cemetery is  the Aisle  just along from the Old Town, Galashiels.

   I own two cd' s (eastland & old lad hope)  that  lists inscriptions and  photos of headstones from the two cemeteries. Let me know whether I can help out.

Gala Aisle is free online.`it maybe via Genuki or one of the other scottish sites. At the moment i just cant put my hand on it but it is there somewhere and no doubt someone will kindly give us the web address for it.
