No Debs ............ but my 'one name study' does.

All I have is Jane Davidson bn Jersey married to William Wilmott Twitchin, London 1833

That's correct Debs .........William Wilmott TWITCHIN was born in Hampshire but they got married at St Bartholemew the Great 29 May 1833.
Jane was buried 1838.

On 51 census it shows as follows...............

32 King Street, HO 107/1526 f.175 p.33

Isabella Davey, Head, W, 68, b. Scotland
Elizth Davey, Daur, U, 29, Tassell Maker, b. London St.Dunstan
Jane Twitchin, Daur, W, 38, b. Jersey
Elizabeth Davey, Neice, 15, b. Midx St.Lukes

its the last entry that Im trying to discover if she is my g/g/nanna.

Thanks for that Debs ........... you have 'untied' something that I have been uncertain about for years.
Wm. Wilmott died at Brentford 1849 so that's why Jane is a widow in 1851.
I assumed that Jane had died in childbirth with her son in 1838.
It is now quite clear that there were twins that died... William and Jane (same as parents).
Another mystery is that a 'Jane TWITCHIN' married a James MEDLYN here in NSW in 1856 .............. I never found out where she 'fitted' in my one name study .................... until now!!
She was the Jane in the 1851 census .......... and she died here;
 MEDLYN, Jane   CD 609061  Death
         Father:   Benjamin
          Mother:   Isabella
      Index Year:   1886
   Reg Year:   1886   Reg State:   New South Wales
   Ref Number:   6162
You will note that her mother is stated as "Isabella" which clinches that.

With your own research what have you discovered since 1851 regarding;
"Elizabeth Davey, Neice, 15, b. Midx St.Lukes" ?
Have you tried free BMD? 1861 census?
If she was a 'niece' to the head (Isabella) who were her parents and where were they in 1851?.
I suppose it could be possible that "Elizth Davey, Daur, U, 29, Tassell Maker, b. London St.Dunstan" could be her mother indicating that she may have been born when her mother was quite young ............. possible seeing she had the same first name.
It happened in my line.

you came to the same conclusion I did regards to the two elizabeths. If it is my elizabeth (neice) by 61 census she is married to richard davidson. I cannot find that marriage or her first son birth also same area - st lukes, MDX. This is getting so frustrating. Are this family still together on 61 census I wonder................because it might clear up a few things for me ggrrrrr....
