I live near Paisley and can only remember 2 cinemas ,The Kelburn and The Glen which was the scene of a terrible disaster in 1929 in which 71 children lost their lives in a crush caused by a rumour  that there was a fire .
So maybe if you contact www.glencinema.org.uk
or http://www.paisleyonline.co.uk maybe someone can help

There used to be quite  a few cinemas in Paisley

In the High street there was
The Glen where Burtons is now
There was another where the empty Littlewoods store is now
and a third where the paisley centre is now
and a fourth further along near the junction of Lady Lane (currently a bingo hall)

Another one that is long gone is the Astoria (aka The Bug Hut) which was in Lawn St - where Arnotts carpark is (Tho Arnotts is also closed) .

I was born and grew up in  Paisley.  I remember the Kelburn in Glasgow Road, Astoria, Lawn Street, La Scala and also the Picture House in the High Street, also the Palladium off the High Street.  Then there was the Regal at the corner of Lady Lane and the West End in Broomlands Street.  Lastly, the New Alex opposite the site of the old RAI.

William Blackwood Pollin was my grandfather, though I never knew him as he died before I was born. To the best of my knowledge, he only had the cinema in Kilmarnock. My parents and many of my brothers and sisters actually worked in it and our house was attached to the cinema.
