Help Elusive Family in Victoria

I refer to a previous posting

I have been searching for 
 JOHN DAVID MORRISON                                            
 IRIS FLORENCE MAY MORRISON
 CAROL ANNE MORRISON ( dau).  difficult search but I have finally found the following

1991 Electoral Roll  Bundoora Victoria   John D and IRIS M  (I have address)
1998        "        "          "              "        John D alone (August)
1999        "        "          "              "        Nobody at same address.

This would probably indicate that John David Morrison died between Aug 1998 and Aug 1999 and Iris F M Morrison died between 1991 and 1998.

Unfortunately there are no death records available for this timeframe.

Can anybody give some advice on how I can trace possible records. There is nothing on the Ryerson Index.

Also can anybody access historical electoral roll to see how long the family were living in Bundoora and also at which year did IRIS F M disappear from the rolls. I would be interested to trace dau Carol Anne whom I presume could have married late 1960's early 1970's.

Hi Geoff

Burial/Cemetery records may be your best chance of finding these folks. Some of the Victorian posters are experts at finding such records, but being after midnight in Australia, they probably won't be on until tomorrow.

or there may be other links on the Australian Resources board that you can check.

If you can get a date, it may be possible to find a funeral notice, which may then give the daughter's married name (if she married).

The only online Vic Rolls that I have access to stop in 1936

Thanks for your reply. I had looked at that site but without luck. As you so correctly said an obituary would may be the answer to my problem.
Also if anybody has historic electoral rolls that might also give some clue.

Hi Geoff

Did a quick search of Necroplis   http://www.deceasedsearch.com/index.php   and there is a John David Morrison,  that was cremated in 2005 ?? 
Not sure of your John's age,  this John was aged 82  and born in 1921  3rd March

Geoff - have you looked in the white pages....I can see a possible entry for the husband in the same suburb.  Perhaps a move to a retirement home/village.

Geoff I had a look on the 'Index to Newspaper Deaths in Victoria 1988-1992' and checked the years 1990-92 for your Morrisons, but no mention.

The Index compliments existing Victorian Government BDM's etc. whose information due to time release issues, can't be made public. The contents are compiled from funeral notices, obituaries, law notices etc. taken from Vic. Newspapers and Gazettes. The files can also provide information such as the Executor of an Estate that would not normally be found on a death certificate. Very handy if your person of interest is listed.

Craizi, I did not know that site. Unfortunately my John David was born a few years later.  Don't want to put date in case I upset Moderator.

Thanks Magoo. I managed to persuade the Vic libary to look at electoral roll from 1991 and Iris F M disappeared between 1995 and 1996. Does your index go beyond 1992.

Jenn I have the complete immigration report and details. It said that intended place of residence was Adelaide which sent me off on wrong track for some time.

What are the possibilities of tracing residence at that place back from 1991. I think I have exhausted my time with State Libary. Are there any historic tel directories.

Any further help highly appreciated.

I guess Geoff it will all depend on  how desperate you are to track  this family down.

I  would suggest to  you  that you  place an advertisment in the personal pages on  the Melbourne Newspaper, looking for anyone related to  the  family
