Richard Henry's baptism is recorded on the IGI in the parish of Ludgvan - not exactly St Ives, but close  ;)

Richard Henry (so) baptism also recorded on the IGI in Aldershot.

Thanks,

following your help I've managed to find these on family search:

RICHARD HENRY SMITHAM
Birth: 07 NOV 1825
Christening: 28 JAN 1827     Ludgvan, Cornwall, England
Parents being WILLIAM SMITHAM and BELINDA
The source is listed as the parish registers for Ludgvan,Church of England. (Cornwall)

and

RICHARD HENRY SMITHAM    Christening:  02 SEP 1860   Saint Michael, Aldershot, Hampshire, England
Father:  RICHARD HENRY SMITHAM  Family
 Mother:  MATILDA
The source is listed as the Parish registers for Aldershot,Church of England. (Hampshire)

These must be father and son -they fit in with the census ages/places of birth too.

best wishes and thanks,
Steffi

Regarding Richard Henry and Matilda Smitham.
I note your information about these people and it is very helpful as Richard Henry born 1825 is my husbands 2nd great grand father.
We Know very little but your information has confirmed what we have found and added a couple of names.
I don't know what information you have about the Smitham family perhaps we can help each other. I note you are researching for your friend who is a Smitham?
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Antionette,

best wishes with your research,
