Hi,

Other children to Hugh and Barbara were:

Hugh 1793
John 1795
Mary 1798
Daniel 1805
Alexander (submitted entry, marr. to Ann Smith)

I've looked for a marriage on SP and the IGI but can't see anything that would fit. :(

Like hume24 I had a look on SP and IGI too - no joy obviously.

The only thing I would add is that Borthwick is an East coast name and has many variations - my mother is a Borthwick so I've spent a lot of pennies searching for her rellies.

There's still hope that something might turn up under one of the variations of the spellings (although Soundex on SP didn't help).

Hi Annie,

Many thanks for the reply. As a new boy to RootsChat I'm very impressed by the number of people that take the time to look at all the posts.

I've now got a few more family members to chase down.

The next main one is the Mcpherson / Borthwik marriage which appears to be elusive.

Again my thanks
