I can give you some more detail about this family but there is a problem in what you have posted. It is obviously unlikely that Donald b. c. 1816 and his wife Mary b. 1837 had a som called John in 1847 when mary was just ten. In fact the couple did have a son of that name but not till 1872 and he died in infancy. They lived incidentally at 476 Taobh a Deas Locboisdale.
The Hugh [Eoghann] family at the time of the 1841 Census showed Hugh as a widower aged 65(-70) while Donald and two siblings, Margaret and John, were all shown as aged 20. As ages were to the nearest five years below actual, this probably implies that Donald was born say 1816, Margaret 1818 and John 1820. There were younger children Lachlan 15, Christian 12 and Peggy 1. The last must be a grandchild, I would thing, perhaps of an older son not present. There was a neighbouring John with a son Donald an a son Ewen i.e. Hugh so this might well be the further son of Hugh sen.
The Donald and Mary MacDonald family was Ewen b. 1857, Margaret 1859, Angus 1862 (= 1 Mary MacInnes and 2 Ann Gillies) who succeeded to the croft, Lachlan 1864-77, Effie 1867, Kirsty 1870 = Malcolm MacDonald and settled in Glasgow, John 1872, Mary 1874 = Archie Morrison and settled in Glasgow, and another Mary 1877-99 = John MacDonald and settled in Glasgow.
I hope this gives you a bit of what you were looking for and, if you can clear up the puzzle, I will happily have a further look at the Censuses.
