1891 Census Lookup

Hi

Can anyone locate Charles Henry Ogbourne on the 1891 census please? I've only been able so far to find him in 1901, with his wife Albertina (born in Austria) living in Holberton.  Charles was born in London.

On the 1901 census Charles' daughter and grandson were both born in India,  the later in 1896.

Do you think therefore they weren't in England in 1891 ?  Can't spot them on that census

On reflection, I think you might be right.  I wonder how long they'd been in India, and if there is another avenue I could try?

Prisoner in Queens Prison, Southwark, Middlesex     

The other prisoners all seem to have professional occupations - accountants, surgeon, merchants etc.  I wonder was this a debtors prison?  Especially since Matilda seems to b OK and managing ?

I think Charles Henry was in Portsmouth with an aunt and uncle:

However, the surname is not clear, and there does not seem to be a Charles Ogbourne b. 1838

WOW! what a turn up this is! This is the last thing I was expecting to discover.  What fun! I wonder what William was inside for? Dodgy accounting perhaps? 

My interest in this family comes from the marriage of James Bayley of Willaston to Constance Theodora Mitford Ogbourne.  They married at Holberton in 1907.  He was a commander in the Navy and she was the daughter of Charles Henry Ogbourne.  I was wondering if she might have been in some way related to the notorious Mitford family.  I see from the 1861 census that there was a Francis George "Mutford" perhaps it might be Mitford?

Well -  I can't see them in 1841, nor after 1861.
