PRYZIBELLA/FARRELLY marriage lookup - COMPLETED

I'm trying to locate a marriage for Thomas FARRELLY born 1899 Burra, Sth Australia to Mary PRYZIBELLA.
Thomas's parents were John & Mary FARRELLY.
I've checked in Sth Australia but can't find anything on their marriage/children other than that Thomas died in Sth Aust in 1965.
I have no other info on Mary PRYZIBELLA, spelling could be different.
Presume marriage would be from c1920 onwards, maybe interstate

I have only seen Mary's surname spelt  PRYZIBILLA and PRIZIBILLA.  The  family name was in my area until some years ago.

I have searched for a marriage for Thos FARRELLY in WA, NSW, QLD, VIC and SA - nil result.

A transcription of his death cert would give the date and place of marriage.  I recently purchased a death transcription from SAGHS and was pleased with the prompt service.  Results were emailed to me.

How do you know there was a marriage?
If there is no record of it and no record of  children, is the only information you have from the death index in SA which you have seen?

Hi Cando,
A relative told me they were married so since your post I've made a few phone calls and apparently Thomas married later in life and there were no children.
His marriage must be after 1937 in Sth Aust.
No one seems to know anything about Mary but she was around the same age as Thomas.   Could have been Mary's 2nd marriage and Pryzibella might be her married or maiden name.
I admit I didn't even think of a later marriage, get used to them either not marrying or marrying when young/ish.

I didn't know you were allowed to get certificate information for c1960's so that's some good news.   I'll definately look into that as I have a few I'd like to get.

Sashar - there are only 12 Pryzibilla births on the SA indexes to 1928 and no Mary...so perhaps it was her 2nd marriage...will have a look at the other Pryzibilla marriages.

Hi Sashar

You may already have this, but in case not:   

At Burra Cemetery - Mary Farrelly - age 63 - date of burial 6th Nov 1920
                     with  - John Farrelly - age 72 - date of burial 2nd dec 1927.

Check this site and you will see several Farrelly burials:

www.goyder.sa.gov.au

Select Our region - then go to Cemetery records - Cemetery - all - then type in surname.

Just noticed at the same website as mentioned previously, some burials in the name of:

Przibilla - so we have another variation of the name.

Yes, I've found quite a lot of my Farrelly's through that site.
John & Mary buried at Burra are my GGrandparents.

Pryzibella is turning out to have quite a few spelling variations.  Thanks for adding another alternative to the list - don't think I would have thought of Przibilla.

I'm not sure if this is still an active search of yours, but I'm a Pryzibilla and have a copy of the Family History published in SA in 1994.

There's an entry for Mary Eileen Przibilla, the daughter of John Charles Przibilla and Rose Anne Smith. The dates I have for her are mostly estimates - only her birthdate of 8/1/1904 is taken from an original document. She is reported to have died on 5/10/1993 and to have been married in 10/1941. Her husband Thomas Farrelly was born 1/6/1898 and died 15/10/1967.

The book has a photo of Tom and Mary Farrelly, and the text says:
"Mary Eileen was born at Mount Bryan and was baptised at Burra on 24 January 1904. She attended the Leighton School, but left at an early age to help her parents. Later she went to work for a family in Hawker until her brother, Carl, had to be looked after when he came out of Burra Hospital. Following her marriage to Thomas Farrelly, they moved to Adelaide. She was known as a person who was willing to help others."

There is no mention of any children.
