Hi All,
I wondered if I might ask if there is a headstone inscription or photo for Elizabeth Blair ARMIT, died 02 Oct 1949 in Lochgelly, daug of James & Isabella ROBERTSON (nee MCCRUM).

With thanks,

Thanks for checking Norrie...The McCrum family was from Shotts/Holytown area of Lanarkshire but yes, James and Isabella are probably buried in Lochgelly.

James Robertson d 07 Jan 1946 in Lochgelly.  He was the son of Henry Robertson and Elizabeth Blair
Isabella Robertson (nee McCrum) d 30 Apr 1923.  She was the daug of Isaac McCrum & Jane Adams.

It is possible that there are other issue of Henry and Elizabeth Robertson buried at Lochgelly but they were originally from Lasswade, though I see that some settled in Kelty.  Anything you manage to find would be most appreciated.

I've found further information regarding Elizabeth Blair Robertson...she was married to John Armit and after marriage in Lochgelly in 1914 John & Elizabeth settled in Newmains, Lanarkshire.  Unfortunately, John Armit succumbed to the Spanish Flu in 1918 so Elizabeth returned to her folk in Lochgelly but she never remarried.  I suppose it's possible that she was buried in Cambusnethan cemetery with John.

However, I have discovered that John & Eliz had a daug, Isabella McCrum Armit in 1914 and that she married Robt Scott.  She died in Lochgelly aged 53 in 1967.  Is it possible you have a headstone for her?

When Eliz Armit (nee Robertson) died in 1949 the informant was Henry Robertson, son of Lochgelly but I have no information about him.

I have information on the Robertsons as i am descended from Henry robertson and Elizabeth Blair. Being a close knit coal mining family they moved around with the work. When one of the Naysmiths became a colliery manager in Fife his relatives followed -i.e Robertsons. I can even remember my granny saying she lived in Lochgelly for a while before returning to Midlothian.
