Amy Barney/Charles Wickham

I am seeking any information on Amy Barney born 1881 in Bury St. Edmonds Suffolk and Charles Wickham, they had a child John Wickham. We know they lived in Stock Essex and John was bought up as John Freestone. We know Amy was living with George Freestone.
John Wickhams birth certificate has Amy as his mother and Charles as his father, Charles is down as Deceased.
We can find no marriage certificate for Amy and Charles.
No death certificate for Charles.
No marriage certificate for George.
We know from hospital records that Amy had a child before John but nothing else.

Do we assume that you are looking at post 1901, Amy is at home with her parents and 5 siblings on the 1901

When was John born and where, it might give you a clue as to a possible marriage

She appears to be registered as Amy Isabel Barney 1881, have you considered she used her middle name.

There are only 4 Amy Barney marriages on
www.ancestry.co.uk
but none of the possible spouses appear to tie up with the names you have

Have you considered a marriage might not have taken place ?

Hi Maud,
yes it is post 1901, we have the census up to 1901, John was born in Marylebone Middlesex.
On his birth certificate his mother is down as Amy Isabel Wickham.
We have considered that she did not marry either Charles or John but at every turn we hit a blank and we are hoping someone can See something that we have missed
