photograph of boys of oundle school

I am not sure where to post this.

In clearing out my late father-in-law's belongings we have come across a photograph of Oundle School where he was a pupil. The photograph is dated 1937 - it is one of those very wide ones with everyone on it. If anyone is interested then please let me know.

Hi Sadietoo,
Sorry to hear about the loss of your father.
I have a couple of friends who are ex pupils of Oundle School, who might be interested. - one is amember of my FHS.
Can you tell me approximately how old the boys on the photo would have been, please?
There is a museum now at Oundle - I wonder if they would be interested to know.
Kind regards,
Paulene :)

Hi Paulene

My father in law was born in 1922 and so by my reckoning he would have been 15/16 at the time of the photo.  We also have a nice photo of one Clement M Spurling in a party of ladies dated 27th July 1936 (apparently he was the music master at Oundle). Please let me know if your friends are interested....we are very happy to let the photo go to a good home!!

Thank you also for letting me know Oundle has a museum... I will contact them if no one else wants the photo....
Kind regards
Sadie

Hi Sadie,
It might take me a little while to get in contact with the two friends, especially one of them.
If someone else asks don't worry.
Will be in touch soon.
Thank you.
Must rush - have to prepare for a family history trip tomorrow, and I've been so busy helping on rootschat I'm way behind.
Take care,
Paulene :)

I am sure the archivist at Oundle school would love to have copies - especially if they are named.  It is one of the main problems of old school photos as they rarely have names on.

Hi Sadie,
I spoke to my friends, regarding the photograph, and they felt that contacting the Oundle Museum would be the best option for the photograph -  then it will be accessible to a greater number of people.
The museum would be delighted to hear from you, and said to contact them on the follwing number:
01832 272741.
Apparently they already have a photograph of pupils taken at the same time, of pupils at the state school in the town, but this would be a good addition to show the whole picture at that date.
Good luck - hope to see it at some time in the future!
Kind regards,
Paulene :)
