Hello  thereTrooper

As  Rootschat  is about  the deceased and not really  about  the  living, what sort of information are you  chasing.

Do  you  want to  know  when and if  they  died etc?

If  so  we need a bit more to  proceed with.  What was John's year of birth, did he have any middle names?, where was he born and who were his parents.  The same information for his wife  please

thanks  Jenn

Hi

It appears you have sourced the addresses from Ancestry Electoral Rolls...as you have named the sub districts.

I see no registrations for the name CALVALEY on
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/familyHistory/search.htm
for either John or his wife Jessie Eleanor.  Nothing on the Ryerson Index .http://www.rootsweb.com/~nswsdps/dpsindex.htm

Cheers

Hi,
Using the spelling CALVELEY, there are some registrations on the site given by cando.
Includes Jessie Eleanor's death  in 1947. Parents names given.
John Stanley's death whose father is John and he is also listed.
There are others.
Take a look.
Ryerson also has a couple of CLAVELEY's

Also
One of the deaths on Ryerson index is for REX Calveley.
Was he a son of your John?
He has an enlistment entry on the ww2 nominal index here.

Born 1924 he joined the rAAF  n Next of Kin was JOhn.  Born Upton England.

Well cando,
It is most unlike me to notice spellings very much and I spend a lot of time pressing the modify button to fix my  gigantic mistakes in my own posts.

Pissed instead of passed and such like.

Have been known to spend a day searching fruitlessly for a person I've spelt wrong throughout every search engine.  :'(

I never thought to just paste the name in.  I'll try it now.

From Australian Electoral Rolls 1900-1936
CALVELEY John  Bourke Street Parramatta   Rigger
CALVELEY Jessie Eleanor   ditto              Home duties

CALVELEY John 368 Maylands Road, Maylands   Labourer
CALVELEY Jessie Eleanor      ditto             Home duties

From Passenger Record

John 43 Occupation Rigger, with wife Jessie 42 , and children Winifred 20, John !6, Eric 10 and Rex 1.  Also on the same passenger number a Mrs Sarah HUGHES aged 64 - all last address 54 St Anne Street, Birkenhead.

Looking at the marriage of John and Jessie on free bdm I see her maiden name was HUGHES - is this her mother on the passenger list.

Surprising what one can find when one uses the correct spelling ;D ;D ;D

Cheers
