Goodness   ;D   What a complete porridge there - Hoxton, Hereford   ;D  etc.

I looked for the marriage of the parents - in case Martha was nee Minson.

The only one I can see is Christopher Jenkins  Q2. 1871 Hitchin  3a. 427, Martha Smith on the same page.

And if you try and track Christopher back - the surname name variations are legion!

Titchfield, Hampshire: Reed,  Fielder, Cawte, Goddard.
Kent:  Float,  Cutbush.
Wallasey, Cheshire: Carroll, Ledsham.

I think Edward is born 1870 at Glandford Brigg Lincs. He can be found on 1881 RG11/4767/15/24 at 3 George Yard Kingston on Hull with father Edward aged 48  a widower and Dock side Labourer.

When searching the 1871 they are in Lincolnshire. Dad is 40 and Edward recorded as 7 but I think it is actually 1.
cant see them in 1891

Hello Andy,

I have been trying to find you for ages.  Please, please can you get the person you are helping to contact me as he is the only one I have heard of that is a direct desendant of Katie.  By the way the surname is JEAKINS.  Her sister my grandmother was the first child born in Hull.  All the rest of them were born in Bedfordshire.  I do know where the name Minson comes from also.
I have left messages on Genes Reunited for you and the BBC chatroom.
I would love to contact Katies decendant.  Does he live in Hull, if not where?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards Linda

Hello Andy,

I wonder if you ever got in touch with Katie Minsons decendant?
I am still trying to get information about the family.  Katie was my grandmothers eldest sister.  Unfortunately the name Jeakins has died out in Hull so unless your friend contacts me I cannot get any further.
Please could you reply to this and let me know if you have contacted your friend.
Regards Linda
