Probably because their memberships drop off mid-year.
They're trying to entice members to re-join.
Advertising execs are not necessarily genealogists.

For the 39 pounds ,they offer military ,censi and most of the records available from the NA ,Ancestry and Find my Past.needless to say I'm not taking the offer up.The Hot Matches always amuse me,as I get a match to someone in London ( for ) example against my born in Birmingham.

OK - so at least it's more than they used to offer, i.e. a place to post the names in your family tree with a hope to finding people researching the same name.

I have had the same email, purchased the credits, and along with the information was a picture.   No way was that a picture of my rellie, but could a newbie fall into the trap thinking it was.     Hot matches are bad as well, quite often I get John Smith born 1890 Scotland, and the match I get is John Smith born 1890 England.     >:(

Haven't even bothered going to GR anymore, think I will let the membership die out.

KHP :)

This is pretty much why I didn't renew my membership after a year, and I delete emails from them without even opening. They'll ask if this John Davis is mine from the 1901 census. I'm pretty sure, as mine never left New Jersey, USA. Why input all the info if they aren't going to use it? I'm no computer whiz, but aren't there filters?
