Hi Alan,

I've obtained a little more information on Philip Darbyshire.  Yes he did marry and have children, but I do not have the names.  With some luck, maybe later.

Apparently he had a farm on Chester Rd., Stretford.

Hi Maxine
Sorry I have been long winded, I did go to Sale but found nothing new on the 1901 census so I bought a voucher pressed all the right keys and that didn't bring up the right info so I have been waiting for support to contact me. Sylvia Darbyshire nee Robinson living in Baguley seems to the right one, she would be my grandmothers cousin, but I cannot find Philip whether he was away for the night or had died who knows at this stage. I did managed to confirm what I knew about the family, as in my teens I played table tennis with the youngest ( who I believe is in Oz ) I really don't want to put names on here as I don't think it is fair without thier approval

Hi Alan,

Shame about Sale Family History!

I quite understand your reluctance to divulge names.

Do you mean the farm at Chester Rd., Stretford and the farm you have stayed at are one and the same?  If so, would you be able to scan your photo and send a copy to me via email?

cheers
Maxine

Hi Amk,
I'm researching the names you have mentioned.  I'm a direct descendent of Margaret Darbyshire, sister to John and Philip.  Please pm me if you'd like to exchange info and chat.  I'm particularly interested in the line of John Darbyshire and Mary Hayman.

Jo  :)

Hi Amk,

Sorry for the delay in responding to your message.  Unwell with a nasty virus but fortunately not the flu of any description.

Yes, I'm still interested in the Darbyshire line but over the last 3 years have been concentrating on another line in Stretford Lancs.

In respect of brothers, John & Philip Darbyshire, they are sons of Humphrey Darbyshire & Eliza Rawlinson.

John born & baptised in late 1851 AuM, married Mary Hayman in 1878 and died in 1895.

Philip born & baptised in aprox. mid 1859 AuM, married Sarah Hayman in 1878 but I have not followed up his death.  Witnesses to their marriage were John Darbyshire & Mary Hayman.

Their father, Humphrey Darbyshire, is a younger brother to William Darbyshire (1815-1889) who I am descended from.

Good Luck with your research.  :)

regards
Maxine Johnson
