Thomas Birch, SDGW lookup please
« on: Tuesday 08 July 08 22:24 BST (UK) »
Hello :)

I am trying to identify Thomas Birch, possibly in the Royal Field Artillery, with a Sheffield connection. Could somebody do me a SDGW lookup please.

Thanks in advance

Robert.

Thanks for the lookup. Unfortunately I cannot identify him. He is remembered on a local memorial as "Gunner Birch T" below R.F.A.
However the regiments listed on this memorial have been very hit & miss.

Hello Ady,

Its definitely a T, but with the errors I have found so far, it might have been a J. What about spelling it Burch?

Could you also confirm that this man has a Sheffield connection - William Wadsworth, service no. 39410, Royal Field Artillery.

Cheers

Robert.

Hello Ady :)

I think I'll have to get more information from local papers to correctly identify T Birch. But thanks for the help so far.

As for William Wadsworth - I think thats my man

Many thanks for all you help
