Hello Adam

I've recently discovered that I have some Poole ancestors in the Willington area and wonder if you could list the Poole MIs for me, please.

With many thanks

JL

Hello JL. Just the one for the Poole family.

In loving memory of Margaret Jane, the beloved wife of James A Poole, who died May/3/1889 aged 30 years.

Thank you so much, Adam  :)

I believe that James A(braham)  was the younger brother of Jane Poole (on a look up thread). They were the children of my 3 x great aunt.

Hello Adam,

First ever post, so apologies if this is the incorrect way to contact you - but could I bother you for the Ludlow inscriptions, please?  Any help would be appreciated!

Best wishes,

Sarah

Hello Sarah. Here is one that can be read. There is another that was very weathered and covered with lichen. Only a couple of names can be guessed at but no dates or ages.

In loving memory of Mary Hannah, the beloved wife of Edward Ludlow of Willington, who died November/18/1897? aged 24 years.
Also Mary Ellen their daughter who died in infancy.

Thank you very much, Adam!  Shame about the weathered one though - I know it probably makes little difference, but do you know if they were they particularly close together (physically, in the churchyard itself)?  And if possible, could I have those names that you gleaned from the other stone?  Even without dates and ages, it may be helpful to place a couple of relatives as having been buried there!

Thanks again - it may be morbid, but I can't help it - this is exciting stuff!

Sorry for the late reply - and oh!  I see what you mean about those missing (mystery!) names!  But, they are obscure enough to be recognisable if I ever come across them in my research, so may be useful yet!

Thanks again for this info...  wouldn't have the access to these MIs if not for you.  Invaluable!

Sarah
