AHHH, The Joneses!

My g granny Doris Jones married a Harold Jones (Merthyr Tydfil 1927)

Her grandad, Isaac Jones married an Elizabeth Jones (Dolgelly, 1884) both fathers were called Evan Jones!  :(

Isaac's father, Evan Jones married a Mary Jones (LLanfihangel y Pennant 1851)

Evan Jones's cousin Lewis Jones married an Elizabeth Jones (Dolgelly 1851)

That's just the Jones/Jones marriages. I have a few other Joneses marrying into the family too.

Boggles the brain trying to work out who is belonging to who!! ??? ??? ???

Clair,
xx

hello all,
I am new to this forum, and just running around reading etc.

Lol.
Well you guessed it. I am looking for Jones too.
Except my Jones (where I am up to) is from Ireland. Matilda Jones b. 1862 who married an English soldier (Lancashire) George May.

Anyone have any idea where I can start to locate Irish Jones's? I have an idea they were from the north based on family stories, but ofcourse it's not definite.

thankyou in advance.
Matilda (yes I took the name as my handle). :)

PS: my husband is from the Thomas family. If you are related to the John Thomas line (the one who went to america in 1642) we have some info on that- the battlesex Jones....but ofcourse that's been well documented and should be easy to find.

Hi my Jones are from Herefordshire/Monmouthshire, so any possible links get in touch please.

However there is also the one name common interest board; http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/board,151.0.html

But I just came accross a topic by Bob which has what looks like a great site for us with Jones in our trees;

I was initially delighted to find that my ggmother's name was Mary Clayton before she became anonymous and married David Jones.   She was from Guilsfield, Montgomeryshire where there are many Claytons, so I'm no further forward, or should that be backwards.
