New to the board!
« on: Tuesday 01 July 08 04:40 BST (UK) »
Hello.

I'm Anne from Australia. I'm researching my ancestors, Brear, Kittrick, Nicholls and Gay. The Brear line are from Wragby and mostly coal miners. The Kittrick and Nicholls side is manily Irish and I've come to a grinding halt on those two lines.
The Gay line was orginally from Gloucestershire.

There are so many posts to read, so i'd better get started.

Best wishes,
Anne

Hullo Anne and welcome.

Why not put your surnames into the surname Interests list on rootschat.

Go to the bottom of this page and click on Your Surname Interests and fillin the thingy there.

Good luck- and you might ven find some matches already listed there. Worth a try

Hello and welcome Anne,

Just to say that I also have Brear/Brier ancestors who were coal miners. I have the family back to Halifax around 1770, moving to Kirkburton by 1798 and then Rothwell/Hunslet in the 19thC. If you find any connections I'd be keen to hear.

All the best,
John

Hi John.

So far I've only researched the direct male Brear line, which have them all in Wragby, West Yorkshire. But as each male had many children, I'm sure we have spread! LOL

If I find any in your area, I'll let you know.

best wishes,
Anne.~
