What Does This tell me ??

 Hello,
Very Sorry now for sounding thick!!!!
But I have downloaded this medel card from the national archives and just wondered what information I could get from it.

I know nothing at all about what Herbert did during the war and I dont know where to start.

I can tell you that his regimental number is 2152, and he was awarded the British and Victory medals.

He was in the Territorial Force but did not serve overseas. He may have been in a reserved occupation.
Southern or Southan [Hereford , Monmouthshire & Glos], Jenkins, Meredith and Morgan [Monmouthshire and Glos.], Murrill, Damary, Damry, Ray, Lawrence [all Middx. & London], Nethway from Kenn or Yatton. Also Riley and Lyons in South Africa and Riley from St. Helena.

Just to clarify
2152 would have been his personnel number and not the group regiment number.

He did serve overseas. He would have not have received any medals if he had stayed in the UK.

The award of the TFM shows that he did not go overseas in 1914 or 1915. He if had he would have receive the 1914 or 1914-15 Star instead of the TFM.

The 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th battalions of the SLI received six-digit numbers in 1917. So he was probably in another battalion.
