hi adam
im new to all this but came across u on rootschat, im looking for the inscription for dobson at st pauls hunwick, i am hoping he be a william dobson b 1874 married to jane ann and died 1903, he had a son mark dobson b 1901 and meggie dobson b 1903, i beleive meggie was baptised at the side of his coffin, in march 1903 i know they resided at hunwick colliery in 1901 census i would be grateful for any help x

anyway since the posting of ma question i beleive that william dobson and jane ann may have after the 1901 census went to live in ferryhill, becos william dies in 1903 and its given sedgefield as the district, but i would love to have any info about them in hunwick in 1901 photos of home work themselves even, william worked as miner and they married in 1897 living in hunwick at the  time of the 1901 census, lived in colliery houses,
i would be grateful for anything , wen he is fit to research thanking u all x gillian x

Hello Exgillian. Here are the inscriptions for two gravestones for Hunwick:-

In loving memory of John Dobson of North Bitchburn, who died March/17/1895 aged 72 years.
Also Dorothy Dobson, beloved wife of the above , who died April/5/1904 aged 81 years.
Also of Henry Dobson of Quarry burn, who died March/26//1903 aged 78 years..
Also Elizabeth Dobson, beloved wife of the above, who died March/20/1904 aged 73 years.

R.I.P Hester Dobson, who died October/2/1878 aged 46 years.
Also John Dobson, who died September/30/1898 aged 65 years.
Also Elizabeth Dobson, who died October/25/1876 aged 17 years.

 :) thanking u so much adam very much appreciated, i willnow look through my research and see if any of these were relations, also i hope u are recovering well after ya time in hospital, ,,,,,,,,, i have been off my work since june , with tibial tendon problem and been in a leg cat for 7 weeks :-[ so frustrating to say the least, when a body is used to work then its took away ,,, hence the family research, oce again thanku x

Hello Jay. And here is yours:-

In affectionate remembrance of Elizabeth, the beloved wife of William Hutchinson, late of High Grange, who died August11/1909 age 55 years.

In loving memory of William Hutchinson, beloved husband of Isabel Hutchinson of Hunwick Lane Ends, who died April/23/1915 aged 69 years.

Note the Elizabeth and Isabel on the stones are correct.
