Hi, My GG Granny apparently came from Silverstream. Where about is this and where would I find records for this area.

looks like its near Bangor.  Could it be a farm?

If you go to that link and click on Area 24 on the map it gives you abit more info. It  also gives you the local council for the area. maybe they could help further?

I LIVED IN Belfast many years ago and there was a Silverstream near the Ballysillan Road.

All I know is that my gggrandparents lived between

Carrick and Greenisland in a district called Silverstream

as quoted in letter written by a great uncle who was reminiscing. I am not familiar with this area.

There is a Silverstream Primary School in Greenisland so I guess this might be the area you are looking for.  The Primary School is nearer the Shore Road end of Greenisland and I think the actual area 'Silverstream' may have stretched right up onto the Upper Road Greenisland.  Perhaps Newtownabbey Urban District Council might be able to help you.
