Thank you so much.  The entry for "P dau" 10 Jun 1797 could be Phoebe.  Another researcher suggested that, but I don't find a burial for the first Phebe.  I appreciate the clarification on the George entries.  Thank you for your time and sharing your resources.  --Leslie

One more idea of how to check on name of last daughter? born in 1797.  There are 2 Lawrence brides listed in Michelmersh about the right time for Rebecca and P?
Larrence         Collence         15 Oct 1820
Lawrence        Alexander        15 Oct 1816

Does anyone have access to the marriage registers OR could someone check on the 1841 census for Michelmersh for Collence (Collins) or Alexander families and see the first names?  Thanks.

The transcript has a Robert baptised on 18 Jun 1797, not P... and no other Lawrence etc in 1797.  Given that the transcript on Genuki has the date as 10th, it's possible that the writing may be poor, so best to check the original if possible.

Rebecca Larrence married William Collence 15 Oct 1820
Harriet Lawrence married John Alexander 15 Oct 1816.

Phebe, daughter of George was buried 17 Sep 1807.

Thank you Nell.  I didn't realize that there were multiple transcripts out there.  There appear to be some gaps in the genuki one and there are probably near illegible entries in the original.  I will try and check the microfilm of the original parish register.  It took 3.5 months for the last microfilm order I placed so I was looking for a quicker answer to my question.  I should know by now...patience, patience when it comes to genealogy!

I have a baptism for Jane Gaiger in Kings Somborne on 13 October 1799. She was the eldest child of William Gaiger and Rachel Lovelock who married in Kings Somborne on 24 September 1795. Jane's sister also married a Lawrence, Henry, a woodman on 25 May 1830 in King Somborne. I haven't yet looked to see whether the Lawrences are related. I have a little bit of information about these Gaigers if you would like.
Gaiger, Craig, Dawson.

Thank you for your offer of assistance.  I haven't worked on that line for a while, but I now have the Kings Somborne CDs with transcriptions of the parish records.  The Lawrences are related.  Henry's father had 4 wives and numerous children.  Henry is a half brother to my direct-line ancestor James Lawrence.

I'm off this weekend to a genealogy conference, but will follow-up with you when I return.  Are you related to the Lawrences or the Gaigers?

I know these posts are old but I am wondering whether you have details on the connection of William's father, George of Michelmersh and the Lawrence family of nearby Brook Somborne. Contact me *
