While doing look-ups for Rootschat at the library today I came across a newspaper report of the wedding of Pattie Folland daughter of Lily printed on the 23rd Sept 1930.

The newspaper report on Patti Folland's wedding was fascinating. To think that they even had a gift from David Lloyd George and his family!

It's not surprising that the Follands were so popular, Mrs Lilly Folland's generosity was legendary after all.

I'm curious though to find out more about one of the guests:
"Miss Eiluned Jenkins of Glanamman, cousin of the bride"

If anyone has any info on this lady, I'd love to hear from them.

David Dudley Folland

David Dudley Folland (believed to be one of the sons of Dudley Croft Folland's 1st marriage) died in Thailand in 2009. I worked with David some years back.  [Messages welcome] :-)

Hi Stephen,
50 years ago I went through Sandhurst with David Folland and have only just learned of his tragic death.  There is a huge gap in my knowledge of him between about 1965 when, I assume, he left the UK and 2009. If there is anything you can tell me to fill in the blank I would be most grateful.

OK Mark, I'll contact you with a private message. My knowledge is limited to 1992 to 1996 - although  I heard some occasional indirect news about David after that date. (The deletions were made here to protect other people's privacy.)

Responding to the earlier post regarding Henry Whitfield Williams.  There is a record of a marriage in 1930 between Pattie Eugenie Folland (daughter of Henry and Leah) and a "William W W Taylor".  Might this be the same person?

I Can't help you with info on Miss Jenkins, But I can let you know that my grandfather worked for Lilly Folland from about 1932 and his brother before him, possible through the 1920's. The old Llwynderw Drive still exsites, but is delapitated, one gate is still hanging on the pillars at the entrance to the old Llwynderw drive, but has almost rusted away. Lloyd George used this drive many times on his visits to the Follands. I was born in the lodge at the bottom of the drive, and now live in what was the chauffeurs cottage about 50 yards up the drive. My family have lived on the Llwynderw estate since the 1920's. There is much more to say, but I am writing this quick as I've only now, this morning. discovered this site and your interest. Hope I'm doing things in the right way.]
