Richard and Sarah etc, including William are at Clayhill Farm, Lamberhurst in 1851.
HO107; Piece 1639; Folio 496; Page 13.

The only Mary Goldings I can find in Ticehurst 1851 are the 17 year old  daughter of a Richard and Judith (who also have a 19 year old son Charles) and a widowed Mary with her four(?) children in Ticehurst work house.
HO107/1639/92/17 and HO107/1639/182/9

Thank you Kerry and Forester. The Mary that I think is the mother to Charles Golding was the daughter of Richard and Judith. I was given information the Mary married William Wells and on one of the census Mary was with William and a son called William Charles Wells with a birth about the same time as Charles. I am now very confused and can't remember were I got the info from about Mary being the mother of Charles. I think I need to make a visit to Lewes to sort this one out. Many thanks to you both for your help. Regards Poppyann

Hello Poppyann,

The marriage of William Wells and Mary is on Free BMD: Dec Qu. 1854  Ticehurst  2b  121.

I've drawn a blank on Mary and Charles/William though.

Hi Poppyann. I've also looked into the Charles and William Goldings and have this:
Charles William b 1852 married Sarah Ann Luck 1876. They had many children inc Kenneth Harold (my line) b 1897. Charles has no father on his birth cert of which I have a copy. Mother Mary b 1834 d 1912 (her parents Richard Golding 1800 and Judith Forward).
Mary married William Wells in 1854. Charles William living with them 1861 (surname Wells) but with his Aunt Olive (Olivia) in 1871. In 1881 he and wife/children living Seacot Heath, Etchingham and in 1891 Flimwell.
There is also a Charles Golding b 1832 married Sarah Ann Oliver in 1856 (brother to Olive and Mary). His mother Judith now a widow is living with him Hawkhurt Road, Ticehurst. In 1891 he's married to Flora with children Fannie, Flora and Charles living Sunnybank, Ticehurst. Hope this clears things up.
