Hello Brian. I have not gone as far as Bishop Auckland with the gravestone inscriptions.
There is a Barras (but no Thomas) at Crook and One at Stanley Crook. They are about six  miles or so from BA

Hello Brian. If you want the inscriptions you will need to post the request on the correct threads ie crook and Stanley.
This gives others who may be researching BARRAS at Crook or Stanley the opportunity to read the inscriptions.

Ellwoods of Butterknowle

You helped me before. I am trying to find where my gt gd parents were buried. They were in Butterknowle in 1901 with theire faimly I can't find a definite burial for them William Ellwood was born 1863 and Jane nee Wilkinson was born 1867. My dad thinks they were still alive when he was young but I can't find a death for Willaim after 1922

Hope you can help once more

Hello Helene. There are no Ellwood inscriptions at Lynesack and the only other Ellwood that I have is for Frosterley but they are for the 1980's.

Hello Sandy. Here they are:-

In loving memory of John Finlay of Woodland, who died August/12/1896 aged 83 years.
Also Hannah, his wife, who died December/28/1893 aged 74 years.
Also John, their son , who died April/1?/1891 aged 47 years.

Sacred to the memory of Robinson Finley, son of John and Hannah Finley of Lynesack, who died May/30/1889 aged 19 years.
