Outstanding Tom - and thank you for the insight! Learning by doing....you can put your foot in it.....

Michael Greenshields. Son of Annie Gibson and John Campbell. Have nae been able to find out any details about them- except that Annie was the wife of a deceased Greenfield. Many variations on Greenshields in that time frame. Somewhat of a scandal here perhaps. Michael grew up in Ireland, emigrated to Scotland, and is recorded as a wine merchant in various records. More to follow when I get home and pull out a few files. Nothing original that can be classed as primary sources...but somewhat reliable.

Hi Tom!
Pulled the file and we have overlaps with some of the information presented by two others. Their info is definitely unknown to us apart from one parental name - James Gillies Greenshields.

Michael Greenshields. Born approx. 1777 in Belfast. Parental names as previously indicated. Married Elizabeth Dunn ( Jane, John, Mary, Ann) on or about 2 June 1804. 2nd marriage to Mary Gillies (Agnes, Hugh, JAMES GILLIES, Robert, William Mills) on or about 13 October 1811.
