Wash Brow
« on: Friday 20 June 08 08:06 BST (UK) »
Please does anyone know where Wash Brow in Tottington is? Many of my family come from there and I've been unable to see it on any maps I've found.
Thank you

Wash Brow is off Tottington Road on the left, in Bury, in the Woolfold area. I am looking at an A to Z from the late 60s. It is between Wash Fold and Wash Terrace, before Scobell St.
There has been much redevelopment in the area just above Bury Bridge where roads go off to Bolton, Walshaw, Tottington, Brandlesholme for Holcombe Brook and Ramsbottom, and Walmersley.
Have you any census details?

Thank you for your help. I've found it on mapquest.
My ancesters - Bridge, Hamer, Dearden, Davis, Greenhalgh and Scholes can all be found in the four lanes end area or Wash Brow Woolfold from 1841 onwards.

Glad to be of assistance!
I lived in Bury from 1958 until 1973.
