Census lookup for fowkes
« on: Sunday 15 June 08 17:07 BST (UK) »
Hello there!
This is my first post, hope it makes sense :)
I am trying to trace the parents and wife of William Fowkes/Foulkes, who is in the 1881 census living on Prince Street in Ilkeston - he is shown as a widower and living with his family, eldest son is Joseph born in Ilkeston c1859. It gives William's birthplace as Heanor around 1839. Can anyone find this family before 1881, ideally firstly with his wife (who dies sometime after 1876) and then further back with his parents?
Any help received gratefully!

There's a possible marriage for John Foulks and Martha on the IGI at www.familysearch.org  :)
