Not sure how to go about finding ancestors of Philip Edwin Cogswell of Edgbaston, Birmingham, England who married my mother's cousin Elizabeth Boyd Taylor in Nairobi in 1958. Can anyone suggest a way forward??

Thanks

Hi,

Was Philip born in Birmingham?   If so a copy of his birth certificate will give name and occupation of his father, plus the maiden name of his mother.

Just found this possibility on FreeBMD:

Births:

Philip E Cogswell    MarQ  1926   Birmingham S   6d  216 (mother Paddock)

Edgbaston is part of the Birmingham S area.

You would need a copy of Philip's marriage certificate to confirm the name of his father.
