who said the 1841 census for kirkcaldy is on the ocean floor
jacci :)

At the risk of dragging the thread off-topic, isn't Kirkcaldy one of those Fife 1841 parishes that was lost when a Ferry sank?

Hi Jac2,

Thanks for your kind offer of lookups.
I'm looking for WISHART and DEAS in the Cults area. A trip to Cults Chuchyard last year didn't come up with much. Maybe your index has more.

The couple I'm trying to find are:
David WISHART (d 1861?) and
Agnes WISHART (M.S. DEAS) d 1853?

TIA

Jack

Wow that was quick!

Yes, I think you found two generations. The one I was looking for was the 1853 one but the other is her mother (according to the unresearched info I have).

What are the two dates for the the elder Agnes? Death and burial?

Thanks again,

Jack

Hi Jac2,
Thank you for the offer of look ups.
I am looking for Boyds who originated in Newburgh.
The parents were George Boyd b.c1758 and Lindsay Christie b.c 1765.
Then their son, David Boyd b.1789 married Christian Melville in Flisk and their offspring were all born Flisk. David probably won't be in your book as he died 1867 Abdie, Fife but his wife, Christian died pre 1855.
Hope this isn't too much to ask.
Rae

Hi jac2

I wonder if you could be so kind to do a look up please.  My main line of interest is the surname BEAT mainly in the Kingsbarn area.  My 3x great-grandparents were John and Janet Beat (nee Thomson) but I have reason to believe that John's father was Gavin and the surname then was spelt BEATT.

Any info would be gratefully received.

Regards
Cheryl
