Just registered and I have the  medal for Edwin Gibson, It has been in our family as long as I remember and I came from Billy Row which is the next village to Stanley and always attended St Thomas Church

Hello, I have just been scrolling thrugh the past letters as it is a while since I have been on this site and saw your letter re Alderman Cape and I wondered if you are aware that the secondary school at Crook, Co Durham  was named the Alderman Cape Secondary School presumably after your ancestor. Sorry if you already know this! geni

Hello Genie. Sorry no inscriptions for Spennymoor.
I think the other part of your posting would be for "Tickettyboo" who asked for the inscription.
If you quote messages it easier for others to check if you quote the post number. Just a thought :)

Hello Geni, sorry its taken me a while to reply, been a bit occupied elsewhere.
Yes, I did know that the school was named for him, but it was kind of you to post and point it out.
Thank you!

Boo

Hi Adam

Although I dont live far away from Stanley I have spent hours trawling these graveyards and only hit a brick wall.

Do you have anything for the surnames Blake, French or Minto please.

Thanks in advance

Happy New Year

Amanda

Hello Amanda. There is only one for French and that is:-

In loving memory of my dear husband Sydney White French, who died January/21/1954? (no age)

There are no Minto  or Blakes at Stanley or even in the Dale, although the French name is at Crook and Tow Law.
