do youl ive in Leicester or Cornwall? thats where my ancestors come from (as well as Sussex but i live there)

I do hope that Marysma finds a suitable family member who will cherish all that fabulous information.

Every time I find something of interest I have tried to return it to a family member. Couple of threads on here where I have had some great results but my latest find is now on the Photo Restore board - titled "Scrap Heap Challenge"

It's so sad to see a lovely family picture thrown away. This one actually has all the family names and ages on it and I know there are descendants out there somewhere just from 5 minutes of research I have done.

Sadly, some people just don't care like we do  :'(

Hi,
I was wondering if you knew how the papers etc came to be in the friends house in the first place?  Perhaps that might give you an idea of who originally saved all the items, and their descendants might be the ones to return the items to.

Fantastic idea glenclare. I love those ah-ha moments. The more eyes on here the better. Is it possible to trace ownership of the house? Although, they could have been there quite a long time. Someone in the 80s bought a house my grandfather had lived in in the 30s, with several owners in between. The stuff was tucked into a far dark corner of an attic. It just so happened he went to college with one of my brothers and when the stuff was found, asked him if he was related to the names in the papers, so my brother got the stuff.

Definitely worth a shot, though.

whenmy nan and grandad moved 10 years ago, they didnt empty the attic  :o ::)
