Emily Maylon Tuck b1817
« on: Sunday 08 June 08 13:45 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to find out birth and/or baptism information for Emily, from what information I have so far, according to the records from the cemetry database in New Zealand where she was buried, Emily was born around 1817 in London. Her parents were Charles Hart James Tuck and Sarah Maylon. In 1845 Emily married Thomas Carey and emmigrated to New Zealand in 1863

Any information would be greatly appreciated :)
Regards

Paul

Do you have 1851/61 census

both census Emily described as b Tottenham middlesex -both census living Seymour Place Islington middlesex
aunt Ann Tuck was living with them in 1851(age 64) and visiting in 1861 (age 75) (she was b Essex and is described as deaf and dumb from birth

Doesn't help with baptism of Emily, but may give you an area to search

Suz
Thornhill, Cresswell, Sisson, Harriman, Cripps, Eyre, Walter, Marson, Battison, Holmes, Bailey, Hardman, Fairhurst Noon-mainly in Derbys/Notts-but also Northampton, Oxford, Leics, Lancs-England

freebmd shows Charles Hart James Tuck d. in 1842, Edmonton district, and a Sarah Tuck d. 1851, Edmonton district.

1841 census:
HO 107/654/21 66/15
Tottenham
Charles Tuck, 52, occupation Sh? (maybe shoemaker?), b. in county
Sarah, 51, b. out of county.

Aunty Anne Tuck may be in the Edmonton Workhouse (aged 55, born in county) but not enough detail to really say.

IGI shows the marriage of her parents (as Charles Tuck and Sarah Malyon) in 1815.  IGI Tottenham CoE baptisms do not seem to be online, but there is some info here:
http://homepages.gold.ac.uk/genuki/MDX/Tottenham/index.html
It seems like All Hallows Tottenham would be the most likely place to look for her baptism (LMA probably have these records).
