Thanks for replying so promptly.
Jane Willoughby (Leary) died in 1897 I think in child birth. Her  last known address on the 1891 census was 3 Millers or (Millars) Place Birkenhead. I believe Thomas did remarry to Margaret O'Neil in 1882 but this conflicts with the 1891 census maybe the date is wrong.
In 1901 the census shows Thomas, Margaret and three of the childrenon the 1891 census ( Elizabeth, Thomas & William) James is the youngest aged 7. Their address was 2 Arthur Street Birkenhead. Thomas is listed as a Bricklayer on both census and ages of children also tie up so I am assuming its the same family.
Iwill have to do some more digging on this.
I have found alot of info on the Cheshire BMD index which is free to search.
