Request Queensland Electoral Roll Lookup.

Following Sue's lead regarding the Oxley connection, I searched through the Ancestry Index and found Harry and Violet Eyre in the 1913 Electoral Roll.

This is Harry with his first wife. They later moved to Sydney and started a family.
Beatrice Lenora LUCAS is listed as living in Oxley in the 1925 Electoral Roll.

The other records I found are for a Beatrice Leonora Lucas. Slightly different spelling of the middle name but it could be the same person.

I can find no further record on the Electoral Rolls for Harry Eyre. I know that he did move back to QLD but may not have registered to vote.

Hope I am reading this correctly - in that she would be unlikely to have had another child in 1937?

I looked at the 1936 (most recent electoral roll online) and found

1936 Moreton Harrisville
Lucas, Beryl Llyweln Flinders writer
Lucas, Harry Eyre Flinders writer

Edit: I'm still confused but is Harry Eyre Lucas the same person as Harry Leo Eyre

Hi Trish,
I was about to say, that as Beatrice Lenora was born in 1883, it is looking most unlikely that she is the B. L. Lucas we are looking for!!

Not likely to be Halyn's mother

By the way, Spyder, I did see a reference to Harry Leo Eyre on our NAA site where there is an undigitised entry about a person of that name in 1925 applying for a patent on "Sound Reproduction Machine'

There is a burial at Toowong for
Beryl llywelyn EYRE aged 60, 1967
In the same grave is
Mary Janet Lucas aged 57 1933

There are a couple of google hits for Beryl Lucas the writer and the death date you have found Trish confirms it maybe the same woman.

Well, now I am modifying that because it may not be.  Too easy to assume Sue!!!

I think she was born in Victoria - although there is a Beryl Llewlyn Lucas on the roll there in 1919? she was born c. 1907?

Ah - not sure about that age of death! perhaps she was older than Harry & didn't reveal her birthdate

Here is a little biography with birth and death dates and places.  Fits Ok about death .  Birth date here in too  early though!
