Hera,
it is St Johns, Trentham, and appears to be the first Anglican church in Upper Hutt (1861), and it has a significant graveyard around it. The nearest similar church is Christ Church at Taita, but that is in Lower Hutt City.
See www.stjohnstrentham.org.nz/
Ask them if they have a burial register.
cheers

Hi there, I live within 'the bells that toll' of the church you wish to get information from.  Would you like me to go and see what I can find for you

Is there a registry of Church of England clergy in NZ available.

There used to be a directory of NZ Anglican clergy at:
http://www.kinderlibrary.ac.nz/information-sources/anglican-clergy-intro.asp
However, the links to the alphabetical list of clergy stopped working for me ages ago.

Only now have I thought to have a bit of a Google, and found it somewhere else! The Blain Biographical Directory of Anglican Clergy in the Pacific can be downloaded as a .pdf file (5.5Mb):
http://anglicanhistory.org/nz/blain_directory/

On page 149 there is Peter Lochiel Mitchel Cameron who was the vicar of Upper Hutt and Pauatahanui in 1894-97.

It had really bugged me that the KinderLibrary website had fallen over, so I'm delighted that this thread has inspired me to look more widely.

Cheers
Koromo

Hi

If you have no luck with the Upper Hutt churchyards, then the Wallaceville Cemetery is another you may like to try ?
Some time back, a very helpful chappie at Upper Hutt City Council suggested this as an option during one of my searches.

From memory, the burial registers for Wallaceville are held by the Hutt Valley Funeral Directors, Gee and Hickton Ltd ?  (Sorry, just not 100% sure I have the correct funeral firm ... but they have a website you can contact them through or try an email to Upper Hutt City Council    >    askus@uhcc.govt.nz     )

Hello everyone,
I was away overseas for a while.  Thank you so much for your replies.  Lucy2 I will look into your suggestion.

Thanks very much for your offer kiwijude .  Any information or photos you can come up with are really appreciated.  I was ready to give up on this one.  If we can find the grave or church record, then I would like to visit the site in the neat future.

Thank you Koromo.

Until next time
have a great weekend,
Hera
