There are no sites for Ireland like you get for English records. There are a few sites which cover certain parts of Ireland but they tend to be very expensive.

Without knowing any details it's hard to suggest where to look so below is just some general information which may help you.

Civil registration of births, deaths and Catholic marriages started in 1864 (from 1845 for other marriages). There will be no certificates before these dates.
For earlier marriages, etc. you need to check for church records (if they exist). To do so you need to know the family's religion and where they lived (parish if not actual townland not just the ounty or 'Ireland').

Unusual surnames will sometimes help find a family, occupations might be useful and often overseas certificates give more clues (for example, if a person born in Ireland died somewhere like Australia or Scotland there will often be lots of important details on the certificates).

If you want to post the names and dates that you have someone might be able to help.

Hi
All i have is James Baillie b 1825ish in Ireland he moved to Glasgow by 1856, his wife was Sarah Gibb also b 1825 in Ireland thats it!! Their son James b 1856 married Sophia Baillie in 1882 the interesting part is her father William Baille from Ireland married Martha Davies b in County Armagh. I'm just wonfering if James and William were brothers or cousins!!! That is all the information I have

Do you know what religion the Baillie family were?- if you are going to search for church records in Ireland at a later stage you will need to know that plus where they lvied (parish if not actual townland).
Does son James' Scottish birth certificate (1856) list the date and place of parents' marriage?- that will be a big help.
Was Sophie Baillie born in Scotland? her birth certificate should have the same information.

Just waiting for James birth certificate to arrive. Someone else has since told me they have found a marriage recorded for James Baillie and Sarah Gibb in 1841 in Donegore Antrim!! so maybe I should look there until the birth cert arrives
