Richard may no longer be with us but perhaps these notes will help somebody.
In 1901 Ellen Pulford (born c.1884 at Gislingham) was working as a housemaid for lodging-house keeper Maria Brett at Hawarden House, Sea Road, Felixstowe. This is the fourth of six properties between Undercliff Road and Granville Road in Cowell's
Directory of Felixstowe & Walton for 1909 (
page 110). The occupier was then listed as Mrs Canavan but in 1920 the late Miss Brett's representative(s) published particulars for the sale of "A Semi-detached seaside residence known as Hawarden House, Sea Road, Felixstowe, recently in the occupation of the military authorities" (Suffolk Archives:
HE402/1/1920/60).
Google's
2018 Street View shows a white-faced building at 4 Sea Road.
